Nikka's Yoichi distillery is located on the coast of Hokkaido, the northermost island of Japan. Crafted using traditional methods, such as direct coal fired distillation, its malt whiskies reflect the authentic character of this exceptional location, with its refined coastal and peat notes. This single malt bottling expresses a subtle balance between smoky, fruity and floral aromas.
Vibrant gold in colour, full bodied & smooth with mellow peat leading to more powerful notes of smoke, soot & salt, these aromas then evolve wonderfully into citrus fruit & spice.
The palate is a powerhouse of smoke, spice & fresh fruit, notes of chocolate fight for attention but the the peat soon regains control, finishing with indulgent & prelonged herbs and spices as well as an earthy undertone.
