Collection: Italy
Italy is steeped in winemaking history with by far the largest number of local or native grape varieties estimated at 2,000 different grape varieties. Across Italy's 20 wine making regions there is a huge variety of microclimates and terroirs. Although Italy is often associated with red wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Chianti, Brunello to name a few some of its most famous wines are white including Soave, Verdicchio, Gavi. It is important to note that Italians like to drink wine with food and as a result prefer sleek, high acid white and reds that tend to match well with food.
