The winemaking and viticultural team led by Werner Engelbrecht follows natural winemaking methods with minimal intervention to maximise the terroir character. Since the first vintage in 2005, the estate has garnered widespread praise and many awards, producing some of South Africa's best and most sought-after wines.
Produced from their best parcels of Bordeaux grape varieties, this Cabernet Franc dominant blend was naturally fermented and aged in French oak barriques for 27 months before bottling without any fining and minimal filtration.
Complex aromas of redcurrant, plum and red cherries with a cedary spice. The predominance of Cabernet Franc gives the wine elegance with lifted berry fruit and a supple, structured palate, yet still firm, fine tannins that accompany the spicy finish. Offering great enjoyment in its youth, Boreas has a long future ahead and will develop complexity with age. Pour a glass alongside a beef roast or a hearty pie.
