Dalmore Distillery was founded in 1839 by Sir Alexander Matheson and is located in Alness, in the Northern Highlands of Scotland, on the banks of the Cromarty Firth. The distillery is operated by Whyte & Mackay and takes its water from the River Averon, which flows from Loch Morie. The Dalmore is recognised by its iconic 12-pointed Royal Stag emblem, a symbol gifted by King Alexander III of Scotland.

The distillery produces a range of official bottlings, with the 12-year-old being its most typical expression. Its smooth, floral Highland character has made it one of the most renowned single malt whiskies in the world, found in premium retailers, hotels, and restaurants globally.

With 12 years' maturation in American oak and Oloroso sherry wood casks the Dalmore 12 years old has notes of orange, chocolate and marzipan with flavours of citrus fruits, coffee and cinammon on the palate. More orange and cinammon show up again in the finish accompanied by warming vanilla.
