Rockford Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon

Established in 1971, Rockford's vintage shed is equipped with plant that is from 50 to 100 years old and was discarded by other wineries as modernisation took over. This allows Rockford to carry on old winemaking traditions and craft wines that capture and reflect the vineyard's characteristics in a timeless fashion.
One of the many European traditions that the first settlers brought to the Barossa was their love of small bore target shooting. The wine, food and fun that went with those days made them an important part of early Barossan social life. Tanunda's Rifle Range, which was in the hills at the back of Krondorf for nearly a hundred years is now covered in vineyard.
One old tradition may be gone but because we make most of our Cabernet Sauvignon from the surrounding vineyards a glass of traditional, rich, soft Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon is still being raised.
