Oxney Estate Organic NV

Oxney's organic field blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Seyval Blanc has set the standard for English sparkling wine with its wonderfully refreshing profile of red apple and pear underpinned with a crisp lemon acidity and toasty notes of just-baked brioche. Very approachable and incredibly moreish but with real depth and a lively character. The perfect year round aperitif.

Oxney ticks every single box there is and a few more that I am probably unaware of too. The entire portfolio of new releases this summer, is amazing and these wines are made with unmistakable care and attention. They are, prepare yourself for a much-maligned expression, definitive crowd-pleasers, in flavour terms, but there is serious detail here, too.
