Old Pulteney 16 Years Old

Founded in 1826, Old Pulteney is one of the northernmost distilleries on the Scottish mainland. Originally, due to the lack of roads, all barley was brought to the distillery by boat, helping to instil the maritime influence that Old Pulteney has become famous for. 

The Old Pulteney 16 has been matured twice firslty in ex-bourbon American oak barrels and Oloroso sherry seasoned Spanish oak casks. The fruity, spiced nature of the cask complements the maritime nature of the malt well, producing aromas of rum-soaked raisins alongside a light salinity and a peppery malt on the palate. You are welcomed by rich melted butter, cooked apples and cinnamon rolls before finishing with a peppery oaked note and lingering baking spice and toffee.
