Philip Shaw No17 Red Blend

No. 17 is 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The mature vines are giving low yield, balanced crops of fruit with intense flavours. The components for this wine were made separately and blended after being in barrel for 24 months. This wine has a deep brick red colour and from the first sniff, the aroma of lifted red fruit characters jump out of the glass. The flavour is very bright, ripe and intense with oak in support. The blend is seamless and smooth; rich elegant fruit in the mid-palate with great structure; blackcurrant character on the finish; excellent length.
