A robust, expressive red wine with impeccable balance, Burlenberg's character stems primarily from its terroir - a limestone soil akin to that of Côtes de Nuits. This terrain provides an ideal foundation for Pinot Noir, imparting deep colour, refined tannins, notable strength, and excellent aging potential. A small proportion of Beurot grapes contributes suppleness and elegance to the blend.
Tasting profile: Intense and vinous aroma, showing deep red hues reminiscent of warm brick. Palate is vibrant and sappy, stimulating mid-tongue salivation. Fresh and peppery notes mingle with a lateral warmth, creating ample volume. The wine exhibits both a horizontal calcareous tension and a rich, volcanic depth. Remarkably long and taut finish, with a refreshing quality. A dense, powerful second wave of flavour returns, echoing the wine's volcanic spirit. Ideal pairings include red meats and small game. For a truly exceptional match, consider serving with pigeon.
