Founded in 1825 (4 years before Bollinger) Joseph Perrier is one of the original Grandes Marques. Still in family ownership and control, the wine is only distributed in the UK through independent wine merchants, and never on the high street. Located in Chalons en Champagne, the wine is aged in 3km of Roman chalk cellars. The NV is aged for 3 years whilst the rose is aged for 4 years. Orange rose in colour with an inviting scent of raspberries, blackberries and blackcurrants. Immediately on the palate; prune marmalade and orange peel intertwined with liquorice and leather. Delicate with further hints of red berries. Lifted with fresh acidity on the finish.
