Glen Scotia The Mermaid 12 Year Old Icons of Campbeltown Release No.1

Dating back to the 1830s, Glen Scotia is one of the few remaining distilleries in Campbeltown. Steeped in history, full of rises and falls, the distillery still produces using traditional methods to create the unique Campbeltown whisky that we all love.

The first in this iconic series pays tribute to the Campbeltown community and the Campbeltown Market Cross, a historic meeting point for celebration and storytelling throughout the years. To mark this first release, Glen Scotia have selected a cask strength, unpeated twelve-year-old single malt whisky and finished it in Palo Cortado sherry casks.

On the nose, you are greeted by sweet vanilla cream, stewed green apples and a splash of sea salt. The palate is full of fudge, dates and boiled sweets, finishing with a more oaky note with saline and orange pith showing great influence from the Palo Cortado casks.
