El Porvenir, Amauta Absoluto Tannat

El Porvenir is one of Salta's premium producers. This small family-owned vineyard has specialized in producing Tannat, Malbec, and Torrontés over the last 50 years. Being one of the highest vineyards in the world at 1,900m above sea level, they produce profound reds with soft tannins due to the prolonged sunlight exposure they receive and the large range in temperatures they're exposed to.

Originally planted in the 1890s, this estate was restored by the Romero-Marcuzzi family in the 1990s, who have made it their goal to capture the essence of their unique terroir throughout their range of wines.

Their wine produces an intense purple colour with raspberries, ripe figs, and spices on the nose. On the palate, it provides a bright and fresh wine with notes of ripe plum, dark cherries, and a light minerality that lingers in the finish. It pairs wonderfully with chargrilled steak or roasted lamb—a delicious alternative to Malbec.
