Jacques Seysses founded Domaine Dujac in Burgundy in 1968, inspired by his father's passion for wine. After learning winemaking at Domaine de la Pousse d'Or, he purchased Domaine Graillet and renamed it with a pun on his own name. His wife Rosalind joined the team in 1973.
The estate's Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard is located between Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin, with varied soil composition across the plot.
Domaine Dujac transitioned to organic viticulture, receiving certification in 2011, and incorporated biodynamic practices from 2003. They aim to preserve the natural ecosystem and terroir.
Their winemaking approach includes whole bunch fermentation, use of indigenous yeasts, and careful extraction techniques. Wines are aged in oak barrels for 14-18 months, with a focus on refining tannins.
