Delheim Grand Reserve

Nestled high on the Simonsberg Mountain, 50 km from Cape Town, the Delheim estate has been the Sperling family's pride for generations. This family-owned winery has consistently crafted distinctive wines over many decades, with their flagship Grand Reserve leading a portfolio of award-winning wines. Since its debut in 1981, the Grand Reserve has received consistently high praise.

Tasting notes: Deep ruby red hue. Its complex bouquet opens with intense dark fruit aromas, predominantly blackberries and blackcurrants. These are complemented by subtle notes of tobacco, tomato leaf, fresh pencil shavings, and cassis. On the palate, the wine demonstrates elegant balance. Rich dark red fruit flavours harmonize with smooth, chalky tannins, culminating in a finish that authentically reflects its terroir. Pairs beautifully with a hearty lamb shank. 

Careful cellaring will allow this wine to age gracefully for up to 15 years.
