Since its founding in 1966, Deanston has been aiming to challenge conventional ways of producing whisky, and as a result, it has produced a truly unique Highland single malt renowned for its signature waxy texture. always sourcing from Scotland and always supporting local, they even still mill the barley themselves to ensure only the highest quality ingredients. fully sustainable, producing all their power from hydroelectric from the river Teith, they aim to be different from other distilleries weither that is from their over 100 hour fermentation to still cutting the whiskey by hand, they truly like to embrace traditional practice but with their own twist.
Heady virgin oak on the nose, bursting with lemon zest and sweet barley sugar, with delicious notes of apple and nutmeg. There's a delightful sweetness on the palate, evoking memories of candied fruits and vanilla toffee, balanced with heather honey. A satisfying light spice finish with a rewarding burst of honeyed malt and sweet oakiness.
