Oscar Wilde once wrote that "we live in an age when unnecessary things are our only necessities" — and Art & Decadence wears that idea like a badge of honour. Named for the Aesthetic and Decadent movements of the late nineteenth century, where art existed purely for art's sake, this is a whisky that makes no apologies for its indulgence.
Rich, potent and built for dessert, Art & Decadence layers malt whisky from Balmenach — finished in Madeira, Sauternes and Marsala casks — with Linkwood aged in Palo Cortado sherry butts, Glen Moray finished in Oloroso sherry butts, and silk-smooth grain whisky from the now-closed Port Dundas Distillery. On the nose, expect red apples, waxed wood, creamy liquorice and hints of banana and toffee. The palate brings golden raisin, apricot, vanilla and apple, with a long, lingering finish of dark chocolate and fragrant oak.
