From Prestigious winemaking Lineage Thierry Vallette's family once owned Château Pavie and Troplong Mondot. Though initially having a successful career as a French Jazz singer, Thierry returned to Belves-de-Castillon and refurbished the run-down Domaine originally built in 1871.
With a focus on natural production and biodiversity among the vineyard, he works all 15 hectares by hand or horse. Over time, he has diversified the viticulture across the estate, increasing plantings of Carmenère.
Puy Arnaud's Cuvée Pervenche is built in an approachable style with a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The black fruit is luscious and medium-bodied, but with a lovely density and soft, rounded texture. The oak is restrained and balanced, imparting controlled layers of vanilla-scented tobacco. Tannins are silky and moreish, finely laced with cherry fruit. The finish is long and fresh.
