Bodegas Benegas Clara Benegas Chardonnay

This chardonnay has a steely directness and fruit purity. A very healthy dollop of proper varietal character – a touch of tropical fruits underscored by ripe limes – mean this could not be any other grape, and it is completely unoaked so it has lovely acidity. Pale straw in colour, dry and zesty in the mouth but pleasantly broad and soft without being creamy. Definitely the way forward for mid-price Chardonnay.
