Benriach The 16 Year Old

Founded in 1898 by John Duff on the site of an old farm in the heart of Speyside, Benriach is one of Scotland's most characterful single malt distilleries. After closing just two years after opening due to the industry-wide Pattison Crash, it lay largely dormant for over six decades before being revived in 1965. Now regarded as a hidden gem among Speyside whiskies, they are renowned for producing three distinct styles: classic unpeated, highland peated, and triple-distilled.

After sixteen years of maturation, Benriach develops a richly balanced evolution of its signature Speyside style. Three cask maturation in bourbon, sherry and virgin oak creates aromas of baked apple and hazelnuts, accompanied by spiced ginger apricots and honey. On the palate, you are welcomed by warming spiced stewed apples, stone fruit and a mellow nutty oak with traces of embers in the background.
