Barbeito Boal 10 Years Reserva Velha

Crafted from select grapes harvested in top vineyards across Campanário, Estreito da Calheta, and Prazeres, the fruit for this Boal 10 Years Reserva Velha is processed in a continuous press, with fermentation halted at the desired sweetness level by adding 96% abv grape spirit.

The Boal grapes then mature for over a decade in French oak casks using the Canteiro method. Wines are carefully chosen from temperature-stable warehouses, ensuring a harmonious balance of sugar and acidity.

The result is a bright gold wine with complex aromas of oily nuts, caramel, figs, and subtle woody and iodine notes. On the palate, it's smooth and honeyed with caramelized nutty flavors. A lively acidity carries through to a spicy, fresh finish.

This versatile medium-sweet wine excels as a digestif and pairs wonderfully with Christmas pudding, foie gras, chocolate, crystallized fruits, and cheese.
