Balvenie Double Wood 12 Year Old

Founded in 1889, Balvenie is one of the few remaining distilleries that keep every craft in-house, from malting their own barley to producing their own casks. This Speyside distillery is located in Dufftown just below Glenfiddich, and although they share the same water source, they are hugely different in character. In recent years, Balvenie has gained mass popularity and is one of the most drunk single malts across Scotland.

The Balvenie DoubleWood is a 12-year-old single malt that gains its distinctive character from being matured in two woods: traditional oak whisky casks and European oak sherry casks. The traditional casks soften and add character, whilst the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour. Sweet fruit and Oloroso sherry notes on the nose, layered with honey and vanilla, leading to smooth flavours of nutty sweetness, cinnamon spiciness and a delicately proportioned layers of sherry.
