Balvenie 12 Year Old The Sweet Toast of American Oak

Founded in 1889, Balvenie is one of the few remaining distilleries that keep every craft in-house, from malting their own barley to producing their own casks. This Speyside distillery is located in Dufftown just below Glenfiddich, and although they share the same water source, they are hugely different in character. In recent years, Balvenie has gained mass popularity and is one of the most drunk single malts across Scotland.

Inspired to produce an even fruitier, sweeter Balvenie, Apprentice Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie had the bright idea to import Virgin Oak barrels from Kentucky. After deep toasting them at The Balvenie Cooperage, they were filled with Balvenie aged in ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a delectably complex whisky with notes of candied fruit, coconut and delicate vanilla.
