Balblair Distillery is situated on a remote hillside overlooking the Dornoch Firth in northern Scotland, on land with a rich history dating back over 3,000 years to ancient Pictish gatherings. Using locally sourced Black Isle barley and water flowing down from the Edderton Hills, Balblair crafts a distinctively light yet complex single malt in traditional squat neck pot stills.
The distillery prides itself on a patient, 62-hour-long fermentation and a slow 4.5-hour distillation process. This dedication to quality results in a whisky that is never rushed or compromised.
Notes of leatherwood, honey and spicy gingerbread are immediately apparent on the nose. The palate is rich with juicy prunes and a splash of fresh lemon peel. The velvety texture is bursting with dark chocolate, tropical fruit and spices. Long and mellow finish, with notes of creamy vanilla and refreshing citrus.
