Adegas Sainas, Silente

Originally electrical engineers, Jorge and Saleta in 2018 took over from her father who wanted to retire from the family vineyard. Jorge saw the great potential of the parcel of vines that ran down the valley surrounding the winery and began initiating a biodynamic regime with the vines. Part of the Ribera Sacra, it is renowned for a cooler and higher altitude climate which is well represented throughout their wines.

Silente is a blend of Mencía 95% and Garnacha Tintorera 5% from 7 plots but principally from the Laxes vineyard, all produced in stainless steel vats and aged for 1 year in tank before being blended and bottled, producing aromas of blue damson fruit with a sweet spice on the palate and a citrus freshness on the finish. Silk-light tannins keep the fruit lifted and linger effortlessly in the finish.
