Located in the heart of Speyside, at the edge of the River Spey, lies the village of Aberlour, founded in 1826 and named after the village. The distillery, now owned by the Chivas Brothers, is renowned for its sherry-influenced whisky with a crisp citrus character.
Originally released for the French market the Aberlour triple cask make up includes Bourbon Barrel, Bourbon hogs head and oloroso sherry cask. The result is a light, sweet dram that has a delicate red fruitiness combined with a subtle touch of caramel and a gentle wave of vanilla. This would make a lovely choice for sipping on a warm summer's evening.
