Nestled in the foothills of the Brokenback Range in Hunter Valley is the Tyrrell's estate. Set upon a vast range of soils, they are able to produce a wide range of high-quality, distinctive wines. Many of their vines are over 100 years old, producing fine wines that embody the characteristics of the Hunter Valley while remaining distinctively Tyrrell's.

The HVD Vineyard was first planted in 1908 and is believed to be the oldest block of Chardonnay still producing in the world. The fruit is hand-picked and immediately pressed before being cold settled for two days before fermentation begins in stainless-steel tanks.

The wine produces aromas of dried citrus peel, green apple, and guava peel. It is a full-bodied wine with fresh acidity, tangy fruit, and a long mineral finish.
