Oban 10 Year Old 2022 Special Release

Oban Distillery lies where the Highlands meet the Islands, just a short distance (208 steps) from the sea. As one of Scotland's smallest distilleries, it has remained in its original location, dating back to 1794, with its methods unchanged for over 200 years. Oban produces a whisky that reflects its coastal surroundings and its commitment to traditional craftsmanship, with special focus on care, authenticity, and heritage.

Another incredible bottling from Diageo's 2022 'Legends Untold' Special Releases, the 10-year-old single malt is first matured in a mix of refill and new American oak before going for a second maturation in ex-Sherry & Amontillado casks, producing layers of vibrancy and flavour.

On the nose, it is gentle with faint top notes yet opens up as time goes on with maritime hints of saline, seaweed and fresh sea air with a subtle smokiness in the background. On the palate, it is soft and creamy smooth with bright notes of violet and spiced plum balanced by a lively spice and saltiness. with a long peppery finish and maritime aftertaste.
