Domaine Gerald and Philibert Talmard is a family Domaine in the small town of Uchizy in the Maconnais. The style of wine Philibert produces here is pure and refreshing, achieved by early picking of ripe grapes whilst they still have good levels of acidity in them and fermented using stainless steel only.
his is classic Macon, not harvested too late as is the fashion with some of the region’s growers or picked when the grapes are too ripe, so as to obtain a very fresh, precise wine, a style enhance by fermentation and ageing sur lie in steel tanks. This is buttery and rewarding with a racy freshness that keeps it alive and vital to the long finish, notes of apple, conference pear, citrus and peach, beautifully balanced and incredibly moreish.

Thanks for alerting me as to the “cork closures”. Here is what I have sent to the “orders” email address:
I am annoyed with myself and even more annoyed with you.
I had clicked on the re-order button from my order 7214 on 28/4/26 and had entirely reasonably expected to be re-ordering the same bottles.
I now find that you have delivered a different “cork” version.
I would not have ordered anything from you had you made this clear. The change in closure is not even mentioned in your “Order #7348 confirmed” below. This wine is destined for lunch on the riverbank in Scotland and the last thing we want to worry about is corkscrews. That aside I now make every attempt not to buy any everyday drinking wine that is not a screwcap.
The sad thing is that my housekeeper has unpacked the wine and re-cycled the overly smart cardboard box which will complicate the return process.
Loved this Macon, soft, smooth, delicious!
Domaine Talmard make first rate Uchizy and this 2022 is no exception. Rich and fresh on the nose, full and creamy on the palate with a satisfying finish. This very favorable initial impression however loses something of its gloss in the glass but it remains excellent value for money, better than most Macon.
Macon is my go-to for affordable white burgundy, and Talmard's Macon Uchizy 2022 ticks all the boxes
