Founded in 1916, Castelnau established its reputation during the First World War. Now spanning over 809 hectares of vineyards across 150 crus managed through a grape growers' collective, they are guaranteed an exceptional supply of high-quality grapes to work with. Celebrating the unique expression of a single harvest year, Castelnau vintage champagne combines the clarity and generosity of Chardonnay with the reassuring and enveloping character of Pinot Noir. 50% Chardonnay, 20% Meunier and 30% Pinot Noir. Prolonged ageing provides notes of toasted nuts with hints of citrus. Pour alongside pan-seared freshwater char or monkfish, or if you're feeling adventurous, try alongside some white truffle soft-boiled eggs and thick buttered soldiers.
