Collection: Georgia

Georgia has been making wines for 8000 years with 525 grape varieties the country is steeped in wine making tradition. One of the main wine making techniques in Georgia is the use of Qvevri or 'concrete eggs'. These are buried in the ground and sealed whilst whole bunch fermentation takes places hence why often Georgian wines are amber in colour. In 2013 UNESCO put the ancient Georgian traditional Qvevri winemaking method on the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
