Rolly Gassmann Gewurztraminer, 75cl
Named after Marie-Thérèse Rolly and Louis Gassman, whose marriage brought about this successful winemaking partnership, this estate dates back to 1676. Although both his parents remain actively involved, the business is currently run by Pierre Gassmann, and he is in the process of converting to biodynamic viticulture. The wine is fermented in large old oak casks and held on its lees for nearly a year prior to bottling. The style is therefore ripe and rich, very textural and exotic, with almost a medium dry level of residual sugar, but with wonderfully fresh acidity for balance. Fantastic quality and definition. Working to the principles of biodynamic viticulture, great care is taken to work with nature to produce the best quality wine.
