Mount Horrocks Wines is owned by winemaker Stephanie Toole, who restricts production to approximately 4,500 cases per annum in order to achieve her aims of quality and single vineyard expression. The Clare Valley winery was established in 1982 and purchased by Stephanie in 1993, who has made significant improvements to the wines, vineyards and winery.
Stephanie describes her wines as ‘hand made food wines with an emphasis on structure as well as generous fruit flavours’. All grapes are 100% estate grown and hand picked from three separate vineyard sites (Auburn vineyard for the Cordon Cut, Watervale vineyard for the Riesling, Semillon and Shiraz, and Polish Hill River vineyard for the Cabernet) totalling nearly 10 hectares in the Clare Valley. Each release from Stephanie Toole seems to eclipse the quality standard set by the previous vintage. The Watervale Riesling is a regional classic, and the Cordon Cut Riesling ranks among Australia’s best sweet wines. The Cordon Cut has twice won the Regional Sweet Trophy over £10 in the Decanter World Wine Awards.
Fragrant, pristine lemon blossom and lime on the bouquet. A bracingly fresh, lemon zest and juice, mineral and flint-like palate, that is bone dry with crunchy vitality. Finishes textured and long with racy acidity.

"Lemon and grapefruit nose with a flinty, stony edge. Refreshing, intense citrus-fruit palate, powerful yet open, with a lovely lemony acidity persisting through to the long, lingering finish. Pleasant and fulfilling - very good!" Decanter 2014
