The oldest reference to this family's wine heritage is a record of Vincente (Jose Domeco de Jarauta's grandfather) presenting a wine in Barcelona's world-wide exhibition in 1888. In 1995 Jose built a modern winery where tradition meets innovation. As a result, the wines have a great purity of fruit and classic secondary aromas from oak ageing. The wine spends 24 months in oak barrels and more than 18 months in bottle before release. The wine is deep ruby in colour with rich cherry scents on the nose and underlying sweet spice from the oak. On the palate, fleshy and powerful with spicy notes, mature rounded tannins and a touch of balsamic on the finish.
