Running With Bulls Tempranillo is leading the rush of Mediterranean varietals that make exciting wine in South Australia’s soil and climate.
Known to thrive in a range of conditions around the world, Tempranillo has an affinity with the Barossa region, where an ideal climate helps to showcase the stylish fruit flavours of this emerging variety. The results are the Australian interpretation of the native styles of the Mediterranean, expressing individual regional characters.
An expressive bouquet that opens up in the glass to reveal fruits of the forest, bramble and dark chocolate with hints of cinnamon and dried lavender. The wine is juicy and plush exhibiting flavours of satsuma, plum and chocolate, finishing with hints of pomegranate and soft tannins. Try with a spicy chorizo, red onion and capsicum pizza.
Matthew Jukes, writing in the Daily Mail on 22nd August 2015, recommended this 'rare example' of a Tempranillo produced outside of Spain which he said ' will set your pulse racing'. 'The Tempranillo grape rarely impresses outside Spain, but this amazing wine would actually put a number of Riojas to shame, such is its impressive, plummy flavour and silky texture.'
