Haute Cot(e) de Fruit, Malbec, Fabien Jouves, 75cl
Fabien takes us to the south-west, to Cahors more precisely. A region that has the reputation of giving powerful, rich and concentrated wines. However, the cuvée Haute Côt (e) of fruit is an incredible freshness where the tannins are voluptuous and silky. It is Malbec and not Gamay, the aromas draw on candied red fruits and ripe. A nice compromise between aromatic richness and silky texture and tonic.
Ripe & Juicy
A clever name for a delicious organic Malbec (aka Cot) made in an elegant Burgundian style. Vital, inky black berries and sweet spices are brightened by firm acidity and refreshingly low alcohol. A lovely alternative to what is traditionally a very heavy, tannic wine. Weekday Wines by Tina Gellie, Associate Editor, Decanter Magazine October 2018
