Chateau Caronne St Gemme, 75cl
£18.90

Described by Tom Stevenson as "a superb island of vines on a gravel plateau south of St Julien estates" Château Caronne Ste Gemme takes pride in its deep gravel mounds of the günzien period which lie on a subsoil of iron rich sandstone to the east and clay to the west. Gravel is the key to ripening Cabernet Sauvignon in Bordeaux; it retains the warmth of the sun and can be the difference between an average vineyard and a truly great one! Very ripe and rich. Aromas of dark berries and plums with hints of dried fruit and tobacco.
