Bourgueil 'Le Grand Clos', Yannick Amirault

Key features

Grape VarietyCabernet Franc

StyleLight & Supple

Many would rate Yannick Amirault as one of the top red wine makers in the Loire. With 11 hectares of Bourgueil and 2 in St Nicolas de Bourgueil. In France he sells out fast and we would love to have a bigger allocation. The vines are between 45 and 50 years old and all the wines go into a mixture of barriques and demi-muids.

From 45 year old vines on the flint/clay soils of Bourgueil. Very low yields and a strict sorting regime back at the winery. Aged in barrels for 24 months to soften and complete the wine.
