This, the Seleccion Tinto from Borsao, is the baby brother of the multi award winning Tres Picos, but dont let that put you off, this is a wine that packs a punch way above its weight, just like its bigger brother.
Brimming with rich, plum and red berry fruit on the nose. A nicely balanced, lightly perfumed red fruit mix with darker spice and chocolate notes to give weight and texture to the palate. Plump soft tannins add some grip to this ripe, juicy and approachable red.
Perfect with a Chorizo pizza!

2012 Vintage: “…a blend of 85% Grenache (called Garnacha in Spain) and 15% Tempranillo that is fermented and aged in stainless steel. Possibly the single greatest dry red wine value in the world, this is an unbelievable wine … any wine retailer worth his weight should be stockpiling this wine next to the cash register. Its deep ruby/purple colour is followed by classic aromas of kirsch liqueur intermixed with raspberries, loamy soil and flowers. This medium to full-bodied wine possesses remarkable depth, an expansive texture and wonderful freshness as well as purity. On taste alone, this beauty could easily sell for $30-50 a bottle….I don’t understand how anyone can make wines this good to sell at this price… 90 points.” Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #203, 30th Oct 2012
“Wonderful repeat performance from this Spanish star, with fresh red and wild fruits and floral notes on the nose. 'The sweet, ripe, Mediterranean-influenced climate fruit results in bright and soft tannins,' explained consultant Ronan Sayburn MS. Light spicing and savoury highlights make this versatile, too – sip solo or match with burgers or barbecues.” Sommelier Wine Awards 2014
