Grape VarietyPinot Noir
The "Domaine des Epeneaux" owes its name to The "Clos des Epeneaux", a sumptuous piece of land of five hectares acquired by Nicolas Marey in the late 18th century and early 19th. Clos des Epeneaux has very poor soils; brown limestone and gravel with a layer of hard rocks underneath. This provides ideal conditions for the production of very fine wine. The vine age ranges form 10 to 70 years which results in blending of different plots. This wine is heavy and deep, with a structure and great finesse and to be kept for ten to fifteen years. Rich red fruit aromas with notes of spice and licquorice.
