This large 60 hectare Domaine is situated high above Rasteau with stunning views over the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Plan de Dieu. Owned by the enthusiastic and very genial Giles Ferran, with renowned southern Rhône oenologist, Philippe Cambie as consultant, it has 40 ha of Rasteau and 7 hectares of the best vineyards in Cairanne, with only very old vines – 70% is 50-60 year old Grenache, 20% Syrah (the Serein clone from Tain l’Hermitage) and 10% Carignan. ‘La Ponce’ Blanc is 40% Marsanne, 40% Rousanne with Clairette and Grenache Blanc and “seduces by its floral nose and vivacity” (Guide Hachette).
“This is an up-and-coming, relatively large estate… and the quality of these wines, which are still very reasonably priced, range from very good to outstanding.” Robert Parker The Wine Advocate.
