Lying within the commune of Néac, precisely on the ancient pilgrim road to St Jacques de Compostelle, at the crossroads of the famous St Emilion and Pomerol appellation on a silico-clayey soil stands an uncommon property, covering an area of 28 hectares. This "Temple of wine" is the Château Haut-Chaigneau.
The wine is 100% single vineyard Merlot, harvested at the very peak of ripeness and spends 18 months in new oak barrels.
"Deep crimson colour. Soft bouquet of black cherry jam, raspberries and redcurrants. Rich and full-bodied. Extraordinary concentration, fortunately backed up with good acidity. Very tannic. Impressive maturity and substance. Best enjoyed between 2005 and 2016"
