Chateau Cissac, Cru Bourgeois, Haut Medoc, 75cl
Cissac is a Cru Bourgeois, located in the appellation of Haut-Médoc. For many years the property has belonged to the Vialard family and produced reliable reds from extensive vineyards that stretch west from some of the finest terroir of Pauillac. These wines age well, and are reasonably priced.
Almost opaque with a bright purple rim, very ripe blackcurrant on the nose and a hint of morello cherry. Unexpectedly pure and refined on the palate, this a delicious 2006 that competes well above its price bracket. This old favourite is truly back on top form.
