Quinta da Côrte Late Bottled Vintage
Polite notice: Vintages and aesthetic properties of products may vary from time to time. For specifics please contact us.
This wine is crafted from a blend of old vines, averaging over 70 years in age, grown on Quinta da Côrte's schist soils. The grape varieties include Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Rufete, and Tinto Cão. Traditional winemaking methods are employed, with grapes foot-trodden in granite vats (lagares) to gently and precisely extract the grapes' essential components.
Tasting Notes: This Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) displays a deep ruby red colour. The nose immediately offers fresh black fruit aromas such as blackberry and blackcurrant, followed by cherry notes, indicating fine maturity. On the palate, complex flavours unfold, with cocoa and mint being particularly prominent. The wine is full-bodied, well-balanced, and long-lasting, built on an elegantly formed structure with impressive volume. A full, fruity finish with a light menthol touch provides great coherence to the overall experience.
Pairing: This wine is ready to drink now and pairs excellently with 'Tomme' sheep's milk cheese and various dark chocolate or red fruit desserts. Serve at 14°C for optimal enjoyment.
Cellaring: While delightful to drink now, this wine will continue to develop complexity over time. It has the potential to age gracefully for up to 20 years when properly cellared.
