The 2015 'Zitelle' is a brawny, voluptuous iteration of Sauvignon from the enigmatic and iconic Miani estate and winemaker-owener Enzo Pontoni. Despite the wine's natural power it's perfectly poised at every twist and turn of elaborate complexity, dried apricot and sweet orange start a beautiful onslaught, with wintery spice and a fresh, crisp herbal note pinning everything together before a touch of aromatic, almost floral honey emerges on the seemingly endless finish. Pure genius, mind bending brilliance, one for the history books.
