Joseph Perrier, Blanc de Blancs, 75cl
Family run and led by the delightful Jean- Claude Fourmon, this Grande Marque House was founded in 1825 in Châlons en Champagne, where it has over 3km of cellars carved out of the chalk hillside. With its own vineyard holdings of some 20 hectares in Cumières in the heart of Champagne, they produce top quality Champagne. As indicated by its name, this champagne is exclusively made from the celebrated Chardonnay variety. It is blended from grapes harvested in the house vineyards at Cumières and top villages on the Côtes des Blancs. It is left to age on lees for around 5 years. This chardonnay based fizz radiates pure aromas both fruity and flowery. Hawthorn and acacia notes flirt with apple and citronella. Vivid, fresh character with flavours of fresh lemon and grapefruit juices followed up by notes of fruit stones.
