Family run and led by the delightful Jean- Claude Fourmon, this Grande Marque House was founded in 1825 in Châlons en Champagne, where it has over 3km of cellars carved out of the chalk hillside. With its own vineyard holdings of some 20 hectares in Cumières in the heart of Champagne, they produce top quality Champagne. As indicated by its name, this champagne is exclusively made from the celebrated Chardonnay variety. It is blended from grapes harvested in the house vineyards at Cumières and top villages on the Côtes des Blancs. It is left to age on lees for around 5 years. With a floral fragrance of acacia, honeysuckle and jasmin added to touches of lime, broom and hyacinth, the fresh character of the nose is made yet more complex with notes of honey. This champagne is fruity and welcoming, with touches of butter and delicate citrus. It has tremendous breeding, elegance and concentration, great length, yet with a lightness of touch which is the mark of a truly great champagne.
