Grape VarietySt. Laurent
StyleLight & Supple
The estate is located in the town of Tattendorf, in the Thermenregion wine-growing area in Lower Austria. The region acquired its name, in part, from geothermal hot springs that flow under the vineyards, contributing to favorable wine growing conditions for finicky varieties.
Grapes are harvested between 1st and 6th of October. Skin contact between 16 and 20 days, fermentation temperature was between 29°C and 32°C, in big oak casks fermented, aged in used barrels of different size (3000 L and partly 225 L) for 12 months.
From an uncertain origin, but nowadays considered an austrian speciality, this outstanding St. Laurent wine impresses with a bouquet reminiscent of forest fruits, sour cherries and marzipan. This wine was aged in big oak barrels and matches excellently to all kinds of roast, dark meat and wild poultry.
